1) Winch out about 2 feet of cable. 2) Pull cotter key from hook pin. 3) Pull hook pin from hook. 4) Remove hook from cable. 5) Push the cable eye through the hole in the Winch Saver starting on the back-side of the Winch Saver. (Tip)-use 2 foot of small rope to help pull the cable eye through. 6) After the cable eye is through the Winch Saver, reverse steps 1-4. Note: If your cable is equipped with a cable eye support (thimble) you will need to freespool the cable off the spool to thred the Winch Saver from the starting end of the cable. Take this opportunity to inspect your cable for damage like kinking, fraying or flatting. If the cable is fine then respool the cable back on tight and even, no slack. |
